An international family firm, with offices in Cyprus and head offices in Europe, are working with GRS to recruit an Accountant to join their well-established team in Nicosia.  The successful candidate must have at least 4 years’ experience as an Accountant ideally in a holding company. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Reporting to CFO
• General book-keeping and preparation of standalone FS in accordance with IFRS and Cypriot local statutory requirements, and assistance with preparation of consolidated IFRS statements
• Execution of monthly closing activities according to IFRS 
• Preparation of management reports as well as external reporting
• Support of external auditors
• Assisting in special projects like M&A transactions, IT implementation, process optimization 
• Cash-Flow reports and payment processing
• Assisting in preparation of VAT returns and Corporate Income Tax returns
• Close cooperation with external partners and administrators
• Other ad-hoc financial related tasks

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• University degree in Accounting or any other relevant field (e.g. ACCA, etc.)
• At least 4-5 years’ experience as a corporate accountant in holding company or accounting firm 
• Experience in a big-4 environment will be considered an advantage  
• Advanced knowledge of IFRS, Cypriot statutory and regulatory requirements
• Advanced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of ERP systems (MS AXAPTA preferred)
• Fluent in English and Greek
