Hellenic Bank Public Company Limited, one of the leading Financial Institutions in Cyprus, is seeking to recruit a Software Engineer (Full Stack) at the Channels & Digital Products Department.

We’re re-inventing our approach to digital banking to breed innovation and quickly take features from the drawing board to our customers who need them most.

We’re looking for highly motivated engineers to join our new Development Team with a passion for building & deploying robust, scalable & extendible software. The team is working in an agile fashion on a greenfield project poised to bolster our online offering while maintaining a strong focus on automated testing and continuous delivery.

The Software Engineer (Full-Stack) will be involved in the design & implementation of code across the entire stack that could involve web development (AngularJS), native mobile app development or back-end Java microservices that integrate user-facing elements with the core platforms of the bank. Experience with writing front-end applications while keeping good UX principles in mind and a solid understanding of software architecture principles will be required.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate in an agile team to build clean, maintainable and scalable code
• Gather and address technical and design requirements
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
• Participate in daily scrum standups and other ceremonies
• Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Implement security and data protection
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies

Candidate Profile

• University degree holder in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or in a related field
• Work experience using any combination of AngularJS, Java/Kotlin, Swift, Java 8, Spring Boot, Rest APIs, microservices, Kubernetes, Azure Cloud, design patterns and TDD
• Proficient knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or XP 
• Experience building customer facing front-end applications
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles
• Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
• Attentive to detail, methodical, diligent
• Fluency in Greek and English, both verbal and written
