ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE:

  • Relevant administrative / clerical experience.
  • A good knowledge of office based IT is needed, including Microsoft Office packages
  • (Word, Excel and Outlook) and electronic filing practices.
  • The ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing is an essential part of this role.
  • You must undergo and pass as security / police check.
  • You must provide 2 professional references. (Standing requirement).
  • Be prepared to self-drive MT vehicle (and prepared to obtain FMT600) to attend meetings across WSBA and ESBA or occasionally in the Republic of Cyprus.

 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Knowledge of SBA / Community

Brief Description of Role(14) Sole 55 AEC Gp point of contact in Ay Nik.  Responsible for: co-ordinating and managing the Ay Nik Community Learning Programme (CLP); co-ordinating, publicising and overseeing all courses run at the AEC; maintaining relationships with Ay Nik personnel to maximise participation; managing the AEC infrastructure day-to-day (including health and safety compliance); and assisting the Dhekelia AEC staff in support of other tasks as required, including support to ECDL/Functional Skills administration and delivery.

 

Responsible to(15) Line Management Responsibility is to OiC Dhekelia AEC (Army Captain).  The Countersigning Officer is OC 55 AEC.

 

Priorities (list in order)(16)

  • Administration of military learners for mandatory career courses.
  • Management of (and enhancement to) the Ay Nik Community Learning Programme (CLP).
  • Co-ordinate, promote and oversee the delivery of courses in the Ay Nik Ed Centre (spousal employment support, instructor capability, CLM/Offr Career Dev courses etc).
  • Support to Dhekelia AEC staff as required (eg. assist with routine maintenance of Ay Nik computer systems including computer faults diagnosis and resolution; limited administration of learners).

Training/qualifications required for the post(21)

Functional Skills Literacy and Numeracy L2, ECDL.  If not held, must have a realistic prospect of achievement within the first two months of employment (AEC support available).

Attend mandated training specified by 55 AEC/BFC and any other training recommended.

Experience of administration and customer service highly desirable.
