ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE

  • The ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing is an essential part of this role.
  • You must undergo and pass Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). (To be eligible to apply for DBS you must have lived in the UK within the last 5 years for a sustained period of time).
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths Grade C or above.
  • You must provide 2 professional references. (Standing requirement).

  • Childcare qualification

Brief Description of Role

To support and assist the staff and school with the educational and pastoral needs of the children.

To share in the corporate responsibility for the discipline and wellbeing of all children, and to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the school environment – referring to the school’s SHEF documentation for guidance. To follow the Safeguarding procedures as detailed in the school policy.

  • to work under the direction of the teacher to help children to participate in whole class, group and individual learning activities for computing development.
  • to support the teacher and children in using information technology safely and effectively.
  • to ensure the learning environments, learning resources and materials are available and ready for use when needed.
  • to support children to develop effective behaviour strategies, relationships with others and self-reliance.
  • to help provide an emotional environment that supports, affirms and values children.
