We are searching for an engaged Economics and Business studies teacher to join our school in September 2024!

Your job as an Economics and Business studies will be to deliver lessons that develop students’ theoretical and applied skills. You should be ready to explain the purpose of learning  Economics and Business Studies at school both to the students and to their parents. 

As an Economics and Business studies teacher you are preparing our students for the IGCSE Examinations

We appreciate project based approaches in education and multicultural communication. As a successful candidate you have a profound understanding of effective teaching practices and are capable of designing your lessons in a motivating way. You should be capable of teaching children with different English levels within the same class. As a part of the team you are representing our school on and off campus.

Our school is located in the centre of Limassol, Cyprus and is a full-time school for 5-16 year old students from different cultures.

Requirements:

  • Being a qualified Economics and Business studies Teacher
  • Ability to teach Economics and Business studies up to and including IGCSE
  • International experience of working with children and their parents
  • The ability to adapt and provide a tailored approach to a variety of children’s needs
  • Approval by or application number  of  the Cyprus council of Recognition of Qualifications   (KYSATS)
  • A strong work ethic and passion to develop children
  • High communication skill in English 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning appropriate lessons to meet national curriculum guidelines, keeping up to date with changes up to 25 lessons per week
  • Creating engaging lessons to involve pupils of all abilities, coordinating with colleagues and administration. 
  • Using a mix of resources to enhance pupil’s understanding and application of Economics and Business studies concepts
  • Using different teaching methods, including project-based learning,  whole class, group work, independent research, demonstrations, experiments and play, to motivate and encourage interaction in the class
  • Communicating effectively with the pupils so they are clear about the objectives of each lesson and project
  • Completing administrative work. e.g., taking registers, updating records, marking work and writing reports
  • Setting expectations for discipline and behaviour including dealing with inappropriate behaviour according to school policy
  • Organising outings, after school clubs, social activities and sports events
  • On-going training events in or outside of school
  • Meeting with senior staff, parents, or external bodies to discuss pupils’ progress or any concerns
  • Attending staff meetings and parents evenings or any other school events.
