Our client is a very well-established Ship Management Services company who have been in operation since 2002 and due to expansion my client is currently seeking to recruit an Accountant with 2-3 years’ experience preferably in shipping to join its dynamic team.

The successful candidate will join the finance team and will be responsible for recording and processing financial transactions related to their shipping management operations. This position requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a solid understanding of accounting practices, particularly within the shipping industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately record and process financial transactions.
• Ensure completeness and correctness of financial data.
• Work closely with team members to keep accounting records up to date on a daily basis.
• Communicate with other departments and vendors to reconcile invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
• Contribute to the preparation of Statements of Account for vessel Owners.
• Assist in the preparation of cash flow reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Help in the preparation of regular financial reports for management.
• Stay updated on relevant shipping regulations, tax policies, and accounting standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• 2-3 years of experience, ideally in the shipping sector.
• A professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) would be an advantage but is not required.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent command of both Greek and English, written and spoken.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines.

Salary and benefits:

• Salary will be based on skills and experience from 24,000 to 28,000 Euros gross per annum
• Provident fund (company participation 3%) 
• Medical scheme
