Our client is a well-established financial firm and the first Cyprus company to receive a license to operate as an Electronic Money Institution granted in 2007. They are currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Database Officer to join a growing team in Larnaca. 
This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of experience to work across multiple database technologies and play a key role in supporting business-critical systems.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and supporting company databases, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. You’ll also collaborate closely with internal teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
• Write, review, and improve SQL queries and stored procedures
• Perform backups, recovery, and ensure data availability
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance
• Support internal stakeholders with reporting and data requests
• Assist with database design, upgrades, and improvements
• Maintain clear documentation and processes

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years of database administration or similar experience
• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or Oracle)
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization
• Good understanding of backup and recovery processes
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude

Nice to Have

• Experience with reporting or data visualization tools
• Basic scripting or automation skills
• Awareness of database security best practices
